Reading

Reading is very important to life. Most successful people have a library that is bigger than their TV. When I was growing up, I had to read for school. I was required to take tests to determine that I had read, but I consistently failed this tests because they focused on very small details in the book. This turned me off to reading. When I was in high school, the Lord of the Rings movies came out. All my friends were saying how the books were so much better (and after reading them, I agree). When I started college, I made a goal to read for an hour a day, everyday. That year, I missed 3 days. I do not read as much now, but I do read every day.

I believe in reading, that I writing my first book: Following a Crucified Man: Becoming a Black Belt Disciple.

I combine Christianity and Taekwondo. It follows the ranks in Taekwondo and highlights a different aspect of Christianity with a life skill. You can purchase it directly from me or on amazon.

This book introduces children to basic business concepts using a cookie business as a fun and relatable example. Author Daniel Fortenberry highlights the importance of planning and encourages parents to support their kids in setting goals and creating a simple business plan.

It begins by tracing the history of cookies and their rise in the market, then shifts focus to using cookies as a model to explain broader entrepreneurial ideas. The book emphasizes pursuing passions, sharing stories of successful entrepreneurs like Debbi Fields and Yvon Chouinard to inspire young readers.

Each chapter covers a key part of starting a business: the idea, the team, marketing, and money. Kids are guided to brainstorm creative ideas, identify who can help them, promote their product, and understand costs, pricing, and tracking expenses.

With practical tips and relatable examples, the book teaches children how to turn an idea into action, helping them build a strong foundation in business and an entrepreneurial mindset.
